Welcome Back!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break. Now it’s time to pick back up where we left off! Here’s a quick update about what is going on in our classroom this week:

Math: 2×2 digit multiplication

Science: Simple machines

Writing: Personal narratives (Writer’s Celebration is on Thursday!)

Reading: Structural elements of dramas

Grammar: Commas and apostrophes

I would also like to mention that I am SO IMPRESSED by the extra credit math projects that I received last week! The creativity levels are through the roof! Great job to those students who took advantage of this wonderful opportunity!

3 more weeks until Winter break! 🙂

Teasley Tiger Trot THIS FRIDAY!

Please remember that the Tiger Trot is this FRIDAY! If you haven’t already, I would greatly encourage you to visit to register your child and donate to our wonderful school! After registering, you can share your child’s donation page with friends and family members so they can donate as well! Our school goal is $35,000. The money donated helps to pay for teacher grants for classroom supplies, educational grants, and school area supports. One of our school goals is to raise enough money to build a traverse climbing wall in the gym. How fun is that?!

It takes #TeamTeasley to meet our goal! Thanks so much for your help!

Holiday Hearts

Dear Teasley Families,

It’s time again for the annual “Holiday Heart Program” at Teasley.  Each year our students, staff and community members support families in need during the holiday season.  This year we are trying something new!  We are asking you to buy gifts cards from places such as Wal-mart, Target, Publix, Kroger or QT instead of gifts.  Please assist us in helping these families in our school community by selecting a heart from the Holiday Hearts tree when you visit the school or attend the Thanksgiving Feast.  You can purchase a gift card in any denomination (please write the amount on the card).

Please place your gift card in an envelope marked “Holiday Hearts” and return it to Teasley by Monday, December 12th.  All gift cards should be placed in one of the black payment boxes or the safe.

If you have any questions please contact Sherise Harris (Counselor for Kindergarten -2nd), or Corinna Oliver (Counselor for 3rd – 5th) at 770-437-5945.  Thank you for your support and generosity!

Extra Credit Math Project!

I have an exciting announcement!

I will be giving students an opportunity to replace TWO of their lowest test grades in math! Being sent home today is an extra credit math project. The project is NOT REQUIRED, however, I am encouraging each of my students to try it. The instructions and requirements for the project are being sent home today on bright green paper, so keep an eye out for it!

If the paper is lost, don’t worry. Here is a digital copy for your use:

The project is due next Friday, November 11th. Have fun!
